Mia Wasikowska returns in the titular role and time travels to save a depressed Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp). The first 30 minutes are interesting and visually appealing. The Underland creatures and their environments are fantastically magical, but that can only stimulate so long. Once the dumb plot starts to thud along, very little new, exciting or visually surprising happens. It just gets duller and dumber. Watch the trailer and you’ll see everything wonderful that happens…and you’ll save 110 minutes of your life.
