Bad Samaritan (review)

Before a restaurant’s valet (Robert Sheehan) parks client’s cars, he slips away to rob their houses…until he discovers a shocking surprise at the residence of one especially smarmy customer  (David Tennant, who’s relishing playing an especially devious villain). This unfurls a cascading series of events that provides several effective scares and mounting tension. There are some flaws in the logic, but also some clever uses of technology. Director Dean Devlin is best known for big disaster films like Geostorm and Independence Day: Resurgence (neither of which was especially successful). He does better with this tightly-woven and enjoyably suspenseful film.
