Black Bear (review)

Aubrey Plaza stars as an indie film director who visits a lake house in the Adirondacks that’s run by an arty couple. The awkwardness of their interactions builds to an unexpected climax then ends… The 2nd half takes place in the same location, but Plaza’s starring in a movie and the other two actors play new characters. This time, she’s an emotional wreck and the cast, crew and director have to comply with her selfish demands, while manipulating her to get thru the last day of shooting. Some might enjoy seeing behind the scenes of making a movie, although there are some glaring discrepancies in the process. On top of that, her neediness becomes tedious. This film rates as an interesting take on art and relationships, with a major indie vibe.
