Constellations (review)

THE PLAY: A couple goes thru major life events together, but they repeat them with endless variations.

THE PRODUCTION: The woman (Audra Honaker) is a quantum physicist, who posits the theory that there are an infinite number of simultaneous universes. Her first meeting with the man (Trevor Craft) is repeated in several variations, as is every major moment in their relationship. This gives the actors the opportunity to try several takes of each encounter, skillfully exploring a variety of reactions. Fortunately, this duo is splendid at capturing the couple’s chemistry with charm and sensitivity. Director Maggie Roop has helped her performers “turn on a dime” to create a rich variety of interplays. Running time: 1:00

THE POINT: A simply beautiful and complexly emotional showcase for two exceptionally talented actors.
