June marks 18 years since the murder case that left former Navy SEAL trainee, Dustin Turner, sentenced to 82 years in prison without parole. Even though another man confessed to the murder and to framing his “swim buddy,” the Commonwealth of Virginia refuses to release Turner. Naval retiree J.D. Leete has made an investigative documentary exploring the details of the case and talked to me about his efforts.

There will be a screening of “Target of Opportunity: The US Navy SEALs and the Murder of Jennifer Evans” at the Criterion Cinemas, 6/13, 7pm, Click here for tickets.

  1. Great interview! I have gotten to know Dustin Turner and he deserves to be free. The documentary is a fascinating story but I hope it will inspire people to contact the Governor (or their legislator) to let him know how they feel.

  2. Terrific interview. Great documentary. Be a part of the crusade to have Dustin freed by asking Gov. McDonnell to do the a right thing and grant him clemency.
