The Burnt Orange Heresy (review)

Claes Bang plays an art critic who travels to the estate of an art dealer (Mick Jagger) on Lake Como with an American woman (Elizabeth Debicki). While there, he engages with a legendary artist who’s been in hiding for many years (Donald Sutherland). The first hour takes its time debating art criticism and other esoteric topics. It’s frustratingly twee. Then, something unexpected happens that adds an element of corruption. Overall, the “payoff” isn’t worth the talky toll it takes to get there.  (Playing locally at Movieland)
