In the Shadow of the Moon (review)

Boyd Holbrook stars as a cop who discovers a series of serial killings that recur every 9 years. This leads to a tiny sci-fi payoff, but most of the movie is simply an uninteresting procedural. Holbrook brings little to the role as his character deteriorates over the decades. The direction lacks much action or excitement. And worst of all, the explanation for the time-travel murders is never fully explained (and hones too closely to the Terminator time travel concept). Slow and lacking any tension…not worth the time it takes to get to the disappointing reveal. (Not to be confused with the documentary of the same name from 2007)
