Star Trek Beyond (review)

The crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise is back for an adventure in uncharted space, where they encounter the inevitable new enemy. Justin Lin, director of the “Fast & Furious series, has added plenty of dizzying action, but it’s often hard to follow. The interaction between the characters holds up the terse comic style that’s kept relationships so enjoyable. There are the expected cool efx, amazing environments and neat creature makeup. Even though the plot lacks imagination, there’s enough going on to make it enjoyable. BTW, the gay Sulu moment feels shoehorned into the film just to make a statement. This is the last in the series for Anton Yelchin (hence the thumbnail photo).
