“Troop 491: The Adventures of the Muddy Lions” is having it’s first commercial booking this week at Criterion Cinemas and I did a video interview with writer/producer/director Praheme.

Virginia-based film production veterans, Erica Arvold and Virginia Bertholet, have joined forces to create Arvold Bertholet  (based in Richmond & Cville). Arvold has 24 years experience as a feature film casting director. Bertholet has 25+ years as a producer for commercials, including 8 years at The Martin Agency. They’ll offer full production services for feature films, commercials and virals. They’ll also provide directors, crews, creative services, and distribution consultation.

Speaking of new ventures (as hinted a month ago), it’s official: Producers Heather Garrett and Brian Bartusiak have launched their own media production venture called Parkwood Creative.

The Virginia Screenwriters Forum will host their next 30-minute table-read performance 10/13, 1-3:30, Center Stage’s Gottwald Playhouse. Scripts by Brian Weakland, Crystal Adaway and Michael McCaffery. Free but reservations required by calling (540) 752-8061 during biz hours.

Applications are now being accepted for the 10th annual Adrenaline Film Project at the Virginia Film Festival, Deadline is 10/18.

Casting has now been announced for “Big Stone Gap.” Click here for details.

“The 19th” is looking for extras for their shoot, which runs from now to to March 2014. Send an email with H/R & basic information.
