While I was on vacation, Bill Hader made local actor Alan Sader even more famous with his hilarious spoof of his ChildFund commercials. Here’s the link if you haven’t seen it.

 

The viewing for this year’s James River Shorts Competition is 11/7, 6:30 – 9pm in VMFA’s Leslie Cheek Theater. Guest judge is Megan Holley, who penned “Sunshine Cleaning.”

 

As part of Pro Bono Week there will be a workshop on skills-based volunteering and pro bono programs. It features experts who will share resources and discuss creating volunteer programs. 10/22, 11-2:30, VCU School of Business (Snead Hall), free. Complete this form to reserve your spot.

 

This year’s Virginia Film Festival is 11/6-9 in Charlottesville. In addition to the numerous screenings, guests include Richard Roundtree, Hal Holbrook, Katie Couric and Frank Langella. The Adrenalilne Film Project will also take place.

 

Congrats to Henrico County Television, which was awarded the 3rd best government TV station in the nation for the 2nd year in a row.
