Another historical pilot is being shot in VA. “Point of Honor,” about a Virginia family during the Civil War, is shooting around central VA next month. It’s being directed by Randall Wallace, who went to high school in Lynchburg, directed “Secretariat” and wrote/directed “Heaven Is for Real.” It’s produced by ABC & Amazon Studios, which will stream it as part of Amazon Prime. The project will be eligible for the Governor’s Motion Picture Opportunity Fund.

The Legacy Media International Film Festival will be 10/17-19 in the Petersburg area. They’re hosting a pre-screening of “Toussaint L’Overture” on 9/6, 1pm at the VMFA ($10, students $5). This is a 2-part epic about the life of the Haitian leader directed by Philippe Niag. It’s 195 min. including one intermission. Click here for advance tickets.

Speaking of the Pburg area, there was a great article in yesterday’s TD about director Jesse Vaughan.

And more ink for a local company: Red Amp Audio recorded Natalie Stovall & The Drives performance of “Mason Jar” and it’s featured in Rolling Stone magazine.
