Belltower Pictures has announced the shooting of their feature “Shooting the Prodigal” in the area this June. Many longtime members of the community will know David E. Powers, who’s president of Belltower Pictures and will direct and executive produce the film. They’re looking for interns in all areas of production (apply by 3/6 at the website).


The James River Film Society holds its first program of 2015 with the 6th Anniversary of the James River Filmmakers Forum!  3/7, 7:30, Visual Arts Center of Richmond (1812 West Main St). We will be celebrating with free pizza and a live performance from These Quiet Colours.  Cash bar and free popcorn. $5 (cash only).


Meanwhile, the 22nd James River Film Festival (4/9 – 12) will feature cult animator-director Ralph Bakshi and son, Eddie, (via Skype). Visit the website for a full roster.

The premiere community screening of the doc “The Life & Times of Elizabeth Keckly” will be at the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School (512 W. Washington St., Petersburg) on 2/28, 7pm. Free, but visit the website to reserve your ticket.


Digital Video Group is looking for an Installation Specialist with a technical audiovisual or multimedia background, significant customer service skills and willing to travel. Job involves on-site installation of equipment, racks and cabling. Send an email with resume.
