Several important Virginia Production Alliance events coming soon:


Film Day is 1/19, 7:30 – noon at the General Assembly. This is an important opportunity for anyone working in our film/video/audio to inform their state lawmakers about what the industry means to them. Visit the website for details.


The VPA’s next general meeting will feature Virginia entertainment lawyer Kirk Schroder (founding partner of Schroder Fidlow) to answer questions about entertainment law and intellectual property. 1/26, 6 – 8 pm at ArtWorks. VPA members free, non-members $5.


The annual STATE OF THE INDUSTRY is 2/12 at Metro Productions. It’s a great way to connect with old friends and network with new ones. Anyone working in the industry is welcome. Free!


Amelia Zontini is a designer, stylist and key costumer for numerous feature films, TV shows and commercials, has created a 2-day introductory course in costume production and design, wardrobe styling and on-set costuming. For information visit the website.


The Fifth Annual RVA Environmental Film Festival (2/2-8) announced that “Rappahannock” has won their Local Documentary Film Contest. Besides winning the $1,000 prize, the film will be screened at the festival.


VCU’s School of the Arts is producing a feature-length film adaptation of “Macbeth” staring actors from the AMC series “TURN: Washington’s Spies.” It was written and directed by Angus Macfadyen. Read more in this RTD article.
