Belltower Pictures has announced a deal for SHOOTING THE PRODIGAL. They’re partnering with Tugg.com to distribute it on a cinema-on-demand basis. Individuals, groups, and organizations can set up screenings in their local theaters and community venues starting 4/1. They also signed an agreement with Virgil Films and Entertainment for North American DVD, digital and broadcast distribution. Release expected late summer.


The Bijou Film Center is seeking 360 people to be Founding Members for its Leap of Faith Campaign by 4/16. On that evening they’re planning a free party to celebrate their success and enjoy live music, beer and food trucks at Hardywood Brewery. By becoming a founding member with a $50 contribution, you will help make it possible for the Bijou to secure a location for its permanent home.


A 2-week class is being offered for young artists (12-18) interested in short film production. Professional filmmakers and actors will lead students through all aspects of movie-making. 8/15 – 26 (Mon-Fri), 9 – 4. $550.


A local indie production company needs a very attractive female for the role of Beauty. Must be available weekend mornings. Send an email with H/R.


Locally-produced RUN got several awards at the International Independent Film Awards. Meanwhile, the RVA premiere will be 4/10, 1pm at the Byrd. Visit their site for details as they develop.


Some of the longer term Richmonders will be saddened to hear that Ed George died last week. He worked in the 80s as a Camera Assistant . Here’s his obit.
