VACATION TIME: THE NEXT TALES WILL BE MON 10/19.

 

As I mentioned last week, “Field of Lost Shoes” opened locally on Friday. Here’s my review.

 

FRAME IT is a state-wide industry event to celebrate the recent strides in production growth & frame the goals ahead. Speakers include Andy Edmunds (Director, VFO), Heather Waters (President, VPA & Producer of RIFF), John Felton (WCVE Productions) A rep from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) will talk about how to get involved with the Emmys.10/15, 6-8:30 at WCVE (23 Sesame Street). Light refreshments and drinks provided. Send an email to RSVP by 10/8 (required).

 

The Richmond Diversity Film Festival provides actors and filmmakers a venue to showcase their voices without judgment. Submissions are now being accepted (early bird deadline is 9/30).

 

The Afrikana Independent Film Festival showcases the cinematic works of emerging and established filmmakers throughout the African diaspora. Films show every 3rd Thursday, 7pm in various locations. Free with $5 suggested donation.

 

 CASTINGS:

 

LionHeart FilmWorks is casting for new 10-part Western anthology series for FOX, shooting Oct – Jan in central VA. Prefer authentic period looks from the mid/late 19th century (long hair and facial hair a plus). All roles paid. This is for actors who haven’t already auditioned. 10/2-4, 10-5. Send an email for an appointment.

 

Shooting Richard Entertainment is casting for a trailer to be shot on 10/3. All 5 roles must look college age (Caucasian and Hispanic). Send an email with H/R.

 

The VCU student film “Oddstruck” is still looking for a black or mixed-race female, 8-10. Shoot is 10/4 (5th as backup). $100 per day. Send an email with H/R to receive a script for a video audition.
