Several hundred years before cinema was invented, there were lantern shows. A very modern trip back in time will be presented by Cinémathèque François at this year’s French Film Festival. MAGIC LANTERNS features a wondrous show with rare, hand-painted glass slides, some of which are mechanized to create animations. This video features an exclusive preview of the show and in interview with the actor who narrates. This US premiere is Saturday 4/1 at the Byrd Theatre. NOTE: Due to the projection platform that’s in the middle of the Byrd for this show, there will be many reduced-vision seats, so get there early!
