Kevin Hart plays an advertising creative who ends up at a Miami bachelor party to do research on the younger generation. That includes 3 of the brightest new talents from SNL: Marcello Hernández, Kam Patterson and Ben Marshall. The result is a round of predictable situations that hope to generate laffs (“The Hangover” is the obvious reference), but seldom do. Ironically, Hart, in his usual manic mode seems desperate, compared to the younger generation’s effortless comic skills. Marshall is sweetly sad, Patterson is hilariously clueless and Hernández’s cute charm assures his long-term success. They make the film worth watching, but it’s still a silly escapade with no originality or much else to recommend it. 2.0 out of 5.0 stars
