Quill Theatre, in partnership with the University of Richmond, is opening THE HEIR APPARENT at VMFA this Friday. The play is adapted from the 17th century French farce by Jean-François Regnard, but features modern language and elements of Commedia dell’arte. Speaking of Italian theatre, it’s being directed by Paolo Emilio Landi, who’s a guest professor at UR. We sat down during a recent rehearsal (no final costumes) to talk about the production.
