THE PLAY: Set in a small Irish village, this comedy is as dark as the cottage they inhabit. Bitter conflict and complaint is the daily routine between a demanding mother and her frustrated adult daughter. Two men round out the play, which is more about culture and character than plot.

Director Bo Wilson isn’t afraid to let the misshapen dynamics unfold skillfully and slowly, but the indigenous idioms and dialect sometime make it hard to follow. The technical aspects are effective.
