Richard Gadd created this series based on his own experiences. He also stars as a version of himself, a bartender with aspirations to be a comedian. Into his bar wanders a flattering woman (Jessica Gunning) that gradually develops into a warped stalker relationship. This series twists and turns, as his experience widens to include other relationships that challenge his perceptions of himself. All of the performances are impressive and director Gadd tells the story bravely and sometimes disturbingly. It’s certainly challenging and frustrating (we kept saying, “Call the police, dammit”), but it’s a unique and unforgettable story of mental health and how it can affect relationships. (Seven episodes between 45 & 30 minutes)
