Both of these documentaries recently dropped on streaming:
Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge
She was much more than a famed designer and this doc recounts her life thru her own stories (and some friends). Of course, the big takeaway was when she declined a 3-way with Mick Jagger & David Bowie and her sexually free attitude and interesting life partners are discussed. The title sums up the focus: A powerful woman who knew what she wanted and became fabulous and famous as a result. From the insights into her mother’s Nazi death camp survival to her numerous career triumphs, this offers a fascinating look at a beguiling personality. (3.5 / 5) Hulu link
Albert Brooks: Defending My Life
Did you know that his real name is Albert Einstein? That’s how this discussion starts. This doc is framed “My Dinner with Andre” style, with Brooks and his best friend Rob Reiner exchanging memories. Numerous accolades are included from other comics from Jon Stewart to David Letterman, in addition to clips from his early routines and TV appearances. Their conversation and the numerous clips makes this an enjoyable personal look back at the actor’s career and life. (3 / 5) Max link
