Jon Hamm plays a hedge fund manager who gets fired. To maintain his high-income lifestyle, he resorts to lifting items from his neighbor’s homes. This series gives Hamm a chance to create a compelling person who’s trying to balance reality with his needs and desires. The story has some unexpected moments and surprisingly tense encounters. Considering that the creator is Jonathan Tropper, who created 2 action-packed dramas, “Banshee” and “Warrior,” these thrills only add to the show’s impact. The narrative does veer off-course at times, the pace could be quicker and the voiceover narration adds an element of pretention. Despite this, the characters are involving and there are regular developments that keep it interesting. While not as strong as “Breaking Bad,” this is Hamm’s opportunity to shine as a conflicted good/bad guy. (Review based on 6 out of ten one-hour eps) (3.5 / 5)
