This is the latest series to address the double murder of a wife and son by their husband/father. Jason Clarke provides the show’s central character with bluster and arrogance. As his wife, Patricia Arquette turns in another top-notch portrayal. They create a dynamic duo of dysfunction. Like so many series, this one is slow to start and has some unnecessary side plots, but the central story gains momentum. The final scenes of Episode 6 show the murder with shocking effectiveness. This is sometimes a fascinating portrait of this flawed family with performances that are the standout feature. (Review based on 6 our of 8 one-hour eps)
