The main point of this series is the dazzling visuals that offer new sights and cool creatures. This one delivers. The story begins with the main family (Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña) mourning the loss their son, but the greater plot involves an aggressive new tribe, who join the humans’ attempts to destroy the peaceful inhabitants of Pandora. Sigourney Weaver is back playing a teen and Stephen Lang returns as the villainous Colonel. There’s plenty of awesome spectacle and dizzying action with just enough dialogue to further the plot without dragging the pace. Even at 3:17 it almost never slows and the performance capture technology allows the actors’ performances to shine thru, adding a layer of emotional involvement. Director James Cameron has once again managed to continue his fascinating journey with another cinematic adventure. (4 / 5) Movieland link
