Pluribus

This series starts with a compelling premise: An alien force has taken over most of the inhabitants of the planet to create one happy hive mind. Rhea Seehorn plays Carol, one of the few people who’s immune to this global outbreak. She slowly finds out more about her situation and the entity that’s controlling the others. The emphasis is on slowly: Every episode drops another revelation, some of which are pretty cool, but it takes lots of time to get there. Creator (and Richmond native) Vince Gilligan has created a truly fascinating story, but Carole’s frustration echoes our own, as disclosures take their time to be revealed. When the final ep ends, there’s lots left to figure out and another season is already promised. BTW, the phone number that’s on screen in the first ep (202.808.3981) is a link to hear Carol’s message for yourself. (9 one-hour episodes) 3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)
