A Murder at the End of the World

Emma Corin plays an amateur sleuth who traces serial killers with her partner (Harris Dickinson). She’s invited to a cool retreat in a remote, frozen location hosted by a tech billionaire (Clive Owen). When the murders start, she tries to identify the killer. While there is some early promise with the locale and tech innovations, there’s too much interpersonal drama getting in the way of any tension. There are also several unlikely instances of people being outside, unaffected by the extreme cold. What could have been a compelling mystery is clogged up with too many flashbacks and dull conversation that has little to do with the killings. What’s worse, suffering thru all 7 eps to get to the revelation is not worth the slog.   (7 one-hourish episodes) 2 out of 5 stars (2 / 5)
