Abigail

There’s basically a new suspense film opening every weekend, but most of them are variations on the same dull themes. This is a combination of evil child and people trapped in a mansion with a mad killer. Alisha Weir plays a young ballerina who is kidnapped by a gang of thugs. Turns out she’s actually a vampire, which leads to bloody murders. This is completely pretty predictable and never frightening or even funny in a tongue-in cheek sort of way…just a lot of blood, which is expected for vampires. Dan Stevens does have a fun turn as the gang leader, but this remains another quickly forgotten non-thriller. 1 out of 5 stars (1 / 5)
