In this slightly sci-fi world, there’s a new test that will identify a person’s soulmate. Brett Goldstein and Imogen Poots play best friends. She gets the test and finds her eventual husband. Despite her new relationship, he still carries a torch for her. This ultimately plays out in a somber drama with a subject that’s been addressed before. What makes this stand out is the charming chemistry and exceptional performances from this duo. Goldstein, who co-wrote the script with director William Bridges, has added his brand of sideways humor to make the heavier elements more enjoyable. This film offers nothing new, but it does tell the story with the warmth of the duo’s chemistry.
