By now, there’s pretty much a competition show on any subject and this is in its 3^rd season…actually the new season is an abbreviated Christmas show. The first season was shot in 2019 in Canada. Glass artists compete in a weekly design assignment to make something that’s seemingly impossible in the short time they’re allotted. What makes this stand out from many reality shows is the focus on process and creativity. Since each show is only 30 minutes, there’s almost none of the typical personal drama surrounding the cast…just a focus on the work, which is incredible to watch in this challenging medium. Even more rewarding is seeing the final products and getting a better appreciation of this art form. (Two 10-episode seasons with 10 artists and a new holiday season of only 4 shows with fewer artists.) (4 / 5)
