Broadway In Richmond is welcoming audiences back to the Altria Theater for the 2021 – 2022 season, which features 3 Richmond premieres, 2 Broadway classics and the return of a blockbuster. Plus, 2 shows rescheduled from last season. All shows have 8 performances (except for THE LION KING, which has 15).
ANASTASIA (October 26 – 31) Inspired by the beloved films, this romance goes from the twilight of the Russian Empire to ’20 Paris, as a woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past.
COME FROM AWAY (February 1 – 6) Based on the true story of 7,000 stranded passengers after 9/11 and the small Newfoundland town that welcomed them.
Disney’s THE LION KING (March 9 – 20) The theatrical phenomenon returns.
Lerner & Loewe’s MY FAIR LADY (May 31 – June 5) From Lincoln Center Theater that produced the revivals of The King & I and South Pacific, comes the story of Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (June 21 – 26) In celebration of its 50th Anniversary, this is a production that was staged by London’s Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, which won the 2017 Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival.
MEAN GIRLS (September 20 – 25) Based on the movie written by Tina Fey, a newbie falls prey to a trio of frenemies.
