Daisy Ridley plays a woman who cleans the exterior windows of a skyscraper. A terrorist group (led by Clive Owen) invades the building where she’s working, taking hostages and threatening disaster, so it’s up to her to save the day. Oh yes, she happens to have Army training that gives her the skills to do the job. While defeating the terrorists, she also has to look out for her autistic brother (played Matthew Tuck, who is on the spectrum). This film harkens back to the classic action thrillers in the “Die Hard” mold. As such, the plot plays out with predictable beats, but the action is well-staged and Ridley is up to the encounters. While not breaking any new ground (but a few windows), it’s a formula flick that director Martin Campbell has managed to make enjoyably entertaining.
