Orlando Bloom, Bryce Dallas Howard and Nick Mohammed play down-on-their-luck improv actors who are recruited by a police officer to go undercover. Their situations create amusing conflicts, as their reputation as real gangsters spreads. Howard plays it straight as the assured leader of the group, Bloom is enjoyable as the pretentious “actor,” but it’s Mohammed whose slight bumbling character provides the most fun. There’s not a lot of outright hilarity, but the trio carries the humor well and their supporting actors add to the comic conflict. An amiable little summer entertainment. (3 / 5)
