The title pretty much sums up the plot: John Krasinski plays a treasure hunter who enlists his sister (Natallie Portman) on a quest for the titular water feature. It’s directed by Guy Ritchie, so you should expect some snazzy action. Instead, this adventure doesn’t offer anything especially exciting. Even the action scenes are muddled and uninventive. At least they did shoot around the real pyramids, but it adds no visual value that couldn’t be created by CGI. Krasinski shows a few flashes of his comic charm, while Portman just protests a lot. There are no interesting characters and not even a real villain. The ultimate reveal is cool, but not worth the journey. The whole affair is watchable, but rather tepid. It’s the kind of streaming film that’s easily viewed while using your phone or tablet without missing anything. (2 / 5)
