There’s a basic revenge plot, but that’s not the point of the Wick franchise. It’s about continual violent encounters. Ana de Armas takes the title role and she proves sufficiently steely for the rough encounters. (Keanu Reeves does show up for a bit.) Meanwhile, it’s great to see Angelica Huston play the tough boss. As for the fights, they’re almost continual and quickly brutal with endless shooting and bone-breaking slams. The only unique aspect is the big final duel of flamethrowers. The cinematography is dark and attractive and it’s shot in some cool locations. There a few moments of drama as the meager plot plays out. Otherwise, the violence is what it’s all about and it delivers without being exceptional. (2.5 / 5)
