Havoc

Gareth Evans is famous for his violent films and this may be his most extreme yet. He’s best known for “Gangs of London” (my review) and (The Raid movies), where the focus is on violence. Tom Hardy does his usual gruff character as a constantly-angry cop who deals with the criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s son. The plot isn’t what this film is about, it’s the fights and the incredible opening car chase. The action is deftly staged with brutal ferocity and vicious blows. Other than that, there’s no other reason to watch this movie. Even so, the aggressive fighting is impressive.
As I did for my review of “The Raid 2,” I’m giving this film one overall rating and one for the fights.
BTW, Hardy’s also the star of “Mobland” (Hulu) and I’ll have a review soon.
2 out of 5 stars (2 / 5) overall
0 out of 5 stars (0 / 5) the fights
