Heated Rivalry

Two rival hockey stars find themselves attracted to each other, while navigating the challenges of being in the closet. This was created by Canadian Jacob Tierney, co-writer/director/EP of Letterkenny (my review), which was a funny show that included the sport. This is a completely different series (no comedy, all drama). The two men (Hudson Williams & Connor Storrie) have immediate chemistry, which leads to salacious sex scenes. Meanwhile, Episode 3 takes a side trip with another story of a closeted player and his heartbreaking romance (François  Arnaud and Robbie G.K.). Tierney’s scripts keep the clandestine encounters and complicated feelings involving and the chemistry between the men is powerful. Yep, the subject is gay, but the show is compelling and simply hot! BTW, Harrison Brown, who plays Storrie’s teammate, is the first trans athlete in professional team sports and now an actor. (Review based on 4 out of 6 one-hour eps) 4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)
