Eli Roth is known for gruesome horror flix and this one certainly delivers. It takes place in a peaceful small town, where the titular character arrives handing out treats to the kids. It turns them into crazed killers, targeting their parents and any other adults who get in their way. The point of this film is to feature evil children brutally dispatching grown-ups and they’re delightfully dreadful in their creative, clever methods. Roth keeps things moving and directs with a full-blown low-budget horror movie vibe. The concept is sick and twisted, but a rollicking riot of gory carnage. NOTE: Look for the director who plays the dad and stick thru the credits for one final gag. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars
