Five years after the last film, a group heads to the equatorial region in an effort to create a miracle drug from the blood of 3 massive prehistoric creatures. The expedition includes Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey and Rupert Friend. Since this is family film, there’s a small family that also ends up in their adventure. Nothing about this sequel is new. It’s the predictable formula, but director Gareth Edwards has added sufficient narrow escapes for thrills. The cast of fine actors helps make the relationships more interesting and the creatures are expectedly massive and cool. This is more of the same, but well executed.
