Melissa Barrera stars as a New York attorney who ends up alone in the Canadian wilderness after her plane crashes. This leads to the inevitable environment and survival challenges. Unfortunately, the filmmakers thought it would be more impactful if they spent more than half the time in flashbacks. These are supposed to flesh out the character’s emotional journey, but they add more tedium than anything. The endurance ordeals sometimes push credibility or coincidence, but there is a decent trek to be appreciated. Ultimately, this could have been a solid thriller as a 2-hour feature, but the addition of the past memories dilutes most of the suspense. NOTE: This film is also listed some places as Breathe.
