This sequel takes place a few years after the last one, when Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning) announces her engagement to the handsome prince (Harrison Dickinson). However, his mother (Michelle Pfeiffer) has other plans that involve eliminating Maleficent (Angelina Jolie, who’s so made up and stolid she could have been computer generated). The story follows expected paths and the performances are all appropriately good or evil. What makes this film special is the dazzling visuals: enchanting creatures, stunning settings and magical effects.
