The trio of primary characters, Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Morpheus (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II taking the place of Laurence Fishburne) are back, but reality has changed…or are they still in the Matrix? There’s plenty of discussion about their situations, but this franchise is more about visuals and this one delivers. Director Lana Wachowski has masterfully created dazzling worlds and cool effects, all gorgeously framed and lit. Even though the dialogue sometimes drags, the performances are engaging. To top it off are the incredible action scenes; wild fights and insane stunts, all with breathless editing. Fans will appreciate the continual showdown between the realities, but everyone can enjoy the cinematic eye candy. As a result, it really needs to be seen on the big screen for full effect. NOTE: Watch thru the credits for the only really funny moment.
