Although Jack Quaid basically plays the same character as he does in “The Boys” (my review), this movie will accelerate his status as a funny leading man. His character is an average-guy banker who has a genetic condition that makes him unable to feel pain. When his new girlfriend (Amber Midthunder) is kidnapped, he sets out to save her. Quaid creates a charming sweet guy, but his off-hand asides and flummoxed reactions provide the humor. Directing duo Dan Berk and Robert Olsen have kept the energy tight and staged the fight scenes with brutal violence, while managing to generate laffs. It’s the slapstick wackiness and Quaid’s spot-on performance that make this “feel” like so much fun. (4 / 5)
