PJ Sykes, Jeff Roll and Shane Brown have launched CinemaNiche, a film group that presents movies in the Studio Two Three’s newly occupied building in Manchester. Their next screening is March 8 with the documentary Sisters with Transistors, celebrating International Women’s Day with a look at the women who were involved in the early days of electronic music. Jeff and PJ talk about:
– What led them to this venture
– The expertise each of them brings
– The meaning of the name
– Buying a new sound system and special projector
– Prepping the screen with paint that costs $100 a can
– About the screening of Sisters with Transistors
– How they’re different from the Bijou Cinema
– BONUS: Their new logo was to be unveiled at the March 8 screening, but they allowed SIFTER to preview it here!
