Ben Foster moves into a beautiful new home with his wife and son. On their first nite, a car crashes into a tree out front, leaving one person dead. This begins his twisted obsession with the calamities at the corner and the fate of the people involved. Foster’s character is about as bleak as can be, going from slightly introvert to quietly unhinged. He seems unrealistically too far at times, but to appreciate the film, it’s necessary accept it. Director Jason Buxton never goes for outright thrills, preferring to create a character that’s both unsteady and unsettling. Ultimately, the ending makes it all worthwhile.
