Influencers are already a popular target for satire and this film throws in the killer puzzle angle. A group of popular internet stars are trapped in the same house where they’re presented challenges (ironically real-life influencers Bryce Hall and Hanna Stocking are in the cast). The person with the fewest “likes” is killed in a horrible way. So, we have the mystery of who’s gonna die next and the promise of brutal tortured deaths. The film delivers a rather unoriginal brand of these genres. Writer/director Josh Stolberg was involved with several of the “Saw” spinoffs, but the violent deaths here aren’t special and there’s never any tension. Solving the mystery involves lots of triggered conversations with most of the characters, who aren’t especially relatable and somewhat obnoxious. A younger audience might relate to the generational viral issues (it is produced by GenTV), but as a horror thriller, it doesn’t get many “likes” from this reviewer.
