This film’s basic concept is that an “entity” enters the body and slowly drives that person violent, insane and suicidal. This sequel revolves around a pop star who’s a cross between Taylor and Gaga (Naomi Scott). While preparing for her new tour, she gets infected and starts to spiral out of control. Parker Finn, the writer/director from the original, is back, but not any better. I thought the first was a dumb excuse for violence and this one isn’t an improvement. Scott does fine as she loses it and there are 2 good jump scares. The costumes and rock scenes are flashy. Otherwise it’s a long slog watching her deteriorate and the bloody damage that’s caused, none of which is that original or remotely scary. (2 / 5)
