Greg Garcia created the enjoyable TV comedy “Raising Hope,” which ran from 2010 – 2014. He’s reassembled the leads (Garret Dillahunt & Martha Plimpton) for this show. When it starts, he’s in prison for a 30-year-old cannabis charge. When COVID hits, they let non-violent offenders out and he has nowhere to go. His cellmate (Phillip Garcia) invites him to live with his mom (Plimpton who’s delightfully raunchy). This crew ends up with more criminal activities, but it’s all wacky fun. The characters are eccentric, while Garcia’s writing and direction add plenty of zany elements. Look for local actor Bridget Gethins as the noisy neighbor (and listen to my podcast with her).
