Even though Will Matthews and Jeffrey Addiss are credited as showrunners for this series, the Duffer Brothers (“Stranger Things”) are listed as Executive Producers. It’s set in current day, but it still has the vibes of their first hit. The big twist is that it’s set in a retirement community with a cast of outstanding senior actors including Alfred Molina, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Bill Pullman, Clarke Peters and Gena Davis. There’s some sort of evil entity stealing the life force from the populus and it’s up to these resourceful neighbors to solve the mystery and save their own lives. The unoriginal script and bland directorial style make it feel like a typical TV series. Only the talented cast that makes it enjoyable. (Eight 60-minute eps) 3.0 out of 5.0 stars
