Adam Devine is one of today’s most popular comic actors and this movie is perfectly susited to his skills. He plays a bank manager who’s about the get married. The weekend of their wedding, the bride’s parents show up (Pierce Brosnan & Ellen Barkin). Meanwhile, his bank gets robbed and he’s convinced it was them. The premise promises fun interactions and it delivers. Not only is Devine continuously amusing, but he’s surrounded by other enjoyable characters (Brosnan is relishing being a gruff guy). Making it even more enjoyable is the smart script and Tyler Spindel’s direction, esp. his way with physical bits. There’s nothing new about the writing, acting or direction, but it’s still a good old-fashioned comedy that’s continually funny. (4 / 5)
