Spotify is one of the world’s largest music streaming services and this Swedish series takes a unique look at its development. There are 6 eps and each one tells the origin story from a different angle; both founders, the coder, the attorney, the industry exec and an artist affected by the service. There’s no real tension or compelling drama here, it’s mostly seeing the interactions and subsequent developments. Watching the whole process over several years and numerous setbacks makes for fascinating storytelling effectively told with involving characters. One amusing note for us Americans: When they visit the US Capital, the interior looks like a large, open-air lobby akin to the Kennedy Center.
